South East Asia - Digital Seismic Atlas

This report is one of a series of new GIS products designed to exploit the power and ease of use of ArcGIS as a tool for the explorationist. The product contains seismic sections complete with interpretation, which can be viewed from within ESRI's ArcGIS application suite. Text, tables and figures are also provided as digital PDFs (see chapter listing below).

In association with Crittenden Geological Consultants, Lynx Information Systems has compiled a digital atlas of seismic lines from SE Asia. The atlas contains published seismic lines which have been scanned, vectorised and reprocessed to provide an introduction to the seismic geology of the region; from Taiwan in the north to Java in the south, from Burma in the west to Irian Jaya in the east.

The atlas includes a comprehensive but concise introduction to the geological development of this prolific hydrocarbon producing region. In addition, for each of the basins there is an overview of the stratigraphy, structures, main tectonic events, exploration history and petroleum geology. Each of the basin overviews is supplemented by maps, stratigraphic sections, tectono-structural sections and geo-seismic sections.

This seismic information, accompanying geological introductions and basin reviews will be an extremely valuable tool for exploration and production companies interested in the prolific hydrocarbon potential of the SE Asian region.

A digital data package
On CD-ROM as a GIS data package in ESRI ArcGIS and Adobe Acrobat.
Seismic lines from all of the major basins with examples through proven oil and gas producing fields.
Seismic data available in digital form for workstation loading.
Each line is presented in interpreted and uninterpreted form, with a brief geological explanation.
The interpretations presented will be original Crittenden/Lynx interpretations, based on the published examples and our regional knowledge.
Synoptic summary of the stratigraphy and petroleum geology for each basin and for each illustrated oil and gas field, supplemented by tables, maps and cross-sections.
Geological review of the SE Asia region supplemented by maps and cross-sections.
A comprehensive bibliography.
