Map Scanning and Digitising

Map Services

Lynx map services include the scanning and digitising of seismic shotpoint basemaps as well as contour maps and other cultural maps. We can provide this service for individual maps, or as part of our comprehensive seismic vectorising and location reconciliation services and GIS services and consultancy. We can also convert a wide range of specialist mapping formats to the industry standards, including SMT Kingdom, Landmark ZMAP Plus, Geographix and PetroSys.

Maps are scanned from paper or film using our full-scale A0-sized (40") colour scanners. If required we can georeference the scanned maps to integrate with your existing GIS data.

Seismic shotpoint basemaps can be automatically digitised using our LEAMAP software. The seismic location data will be reprojected to your preferred coordinate system, and output to industry-standard UKOOA/SEG-P1 format. The coordinates can also be inserted into seismic trace headers if required.

Contour maps will be digitised, with full attribution. We can generate a grid from the digitised contours and faults, for improved analysis, integration with your existing GIS, or import into SMT Kingdom.
Cultural maps can also be digitised. We can provide cultural data loading for . SMT Kingdom
